Another Williamsburg edition of my NY series! On Saturdays throughout the summer (and actually, most of Spring and Fall), Williamsburg East River state park plays host to a fantastic food fayre 'Smorgasburg', with a multitude of stalls of every type of cuisine you can imagine! And on Sundays, it's about 40% food stalls and 60% flea/vintage market stalls, so even if you're not a foodie, there's a good excuse to check it out and grab a tasty snack whilst enjoying the incredible views over Manhattan (most of the food vendors migrate to DUMBO on Sundays so you can also check it out there!).
I've lost count of the number of friends we've transitioned into Smorgasburg obsessives. I thought everyone would already know about the place since I hear about so often online, so I'm surprised when people say they've never been. My hubs is head over heels for these 'cemita' sandwiches. Whilst I've never been able to manage one myself (these things are ginormous!) I do admit they're one of a kind! I usually go for the friend chicken tacos, or one of the delicious grilled cheeses (or both...!). Have you ever been? If you're ever on vacation in NY I definitely recommend a trip if your feeling hungry, or maybe just to check out the views. Luckily, this year it goes on until the end of November!
