I've been in NYC 5 months now and shamefully left it this long to get myself a haircut. Luckily, my love for hats has made that a little easier to get away with until now! I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels nervous about getting a haircut, we've all had those nightmarish styles in the past that we'd much rather forget! Looking for a salon in anew city is always difficult and I've found it takes a few tries to find a good place I want to keep going back to.
Step up, Arrojo! I'd heard about Arrojo mostly through Twitter and other bloggers, and decided it would be a good place to start my 'quest' for a NYC salon. Needless to say, I'm hooked. The salon has such a fantastic atmosphere, everyone is super friendly, they even have a cute cafe for refreshments! Much more impressive than any salon I visited in the UK... My colorist, Inva, knew exactly what shades would work for evening out my blonde highlights along with suggesting I go a little lighter for summer and I immediately trusted her judgement.
I never really know what I want from a cut... layers or no layers? bangs or no bangs? Jon my stylist suggested that a longer bob in one fixed length would work best for me, especially when I'm prone to ridiculous frizz in this humidity.
Et voila! I couldn't be happier with the result- looks like I've found my salon! Arrojo also has their own line of products so I took home some of their de-frizz serum which also seems to be having the desired effect even in the 32C heat. I still love my hats, but maybe there'll be a few more hat-less posts in store in future now!

I love your new haircut! and also is nice to know that you found a fabulous place :)
Arrojo is a spanish word, so is fun to translate its name too.
See you!
Beautiful salon! You look gorgeous♥

I am so happy you posted this! I have been in this city for 4 years now & I still have not found "the place." I've been seeing tons of fellow boggers going to Arrojo & have been dying to try it out. They did an amazing job with your hair!!
