Bad hair day

Dress: UO, Cardigan: from Japan, Belt: Vintage, Sandals: French Connection

This is why I never wear my hair up! Another old summer dress i decided to re-work with 2 lots of studs. Maybe its too studdy?! Oh well, a bit a bling won't do any harm!

I can't believe my last post got over 100 comments! That's actually insane- thanks so so much guys! All your lovely comments make me so happy. I'm still away at my conference but i'll be back to commenting properly on all your blogs soon! Love xxxx

Summer days!

Dress: H&M, Sunnies and clogs: Topshop, Bag: Vintage
Its so hot at the moment! I'm really trying to take advantage of the weather while i can- it never lasts long here! I found this dress hiding in the depths of my wardrobe- totally forgot i had it but its the perfect thing to wear in hot weather. Unfortunately i ended up spilling chocolate ice cream down it later- but it was totally worth it. I'm going away for work this week, but i'll still try and update the blog as much as i can! Love xxxxx
PS: I have been so lucky to be featured in a variety of places around the web and in magazines lately! it's so exciting and i'm really honoured that these companies selected me! I've added a little features section in the side bar if anyone wants to check it out. Crazy stuff xx

Think pink

Skirt: Antipodium, Blouse: H&M (similar here), Pink sports bra underneath: Sweaty Betty, Shoes: Topshop, Bag: Vivienne Westwood, Belt: from Japan

Sometimes when you wear pink, you have to 'pink' it up. This outfit was a bit of an experiment! Thoughts? I wore it but still not sure about it..! One thing for certain, you can't be serious in an outfit like this, I was spinning around in it all day! Love my new skirt - my second installment from the Harvey Nichols sale!

And yay! It's finally the weekend! Hope you all have a good one xxxx

Baggage

A fellow blogger asked me to participate in a 'handbag project' so i thought i'd share a pic with you. It always amuses me how interested we are in other peoples bags and little objects they carry around. Mine is probably the most boring of the lot! Although i do like to have my little rabbit mirror I got from from Japan!
Outfits to come tomorrow!! I accidentally succumbed to the Harvey Nichols sale today!! xxxx

ghost

Quick inspiration post for you today. Tip for you guys, whenever I am lacking in inspiration I go to this amazing blog, click on inspiration and random. I can't even remember how I came across it last year, but i'm glad i did. I love these images, entitled "ghost' they are so dreamy and enhance my love affair with chiffon..! Why can't normal people look this good with crazy fuzzy hair?
There are some amazing editorials from mainstream and lesser known magazines, and more recently from unknown photographers. Its my favourite thing to do on rainy days/ Sunday afternoons. Hope you find inspiration there like I do! xxx

PS- I got my cover sent through for Way magazine! you can see it below. xx

About me!

Apologies for the outfit, it's raining and windy all the time so i'm having a dress down day! Anyway, I promised some of my interview... I'll post the rest later! I guess this the first time i've introduced myself on the blog too, so here goes!

Q. Introduce yourself!
A. Sarah! Originally from Yorkshire, UK, but gradually making my way south. Currently residing in the South West- but NYC here I come (one day!). I'm a PhD student (!), just finished in the lab after 3 years, so now writing my doctoral thesis- a work in progress...! Hopefully I'll be a doctor in a couple of months... and I'll embarrassingly share my name with a chunky pair of boots..
Q. When do you start to share your style?
A. I started my blog in August 2009. Not for any particular reason, i suppose i was feeling frustrated without having a creative outlet in my job and wanted to connect with other people who were interested in fashion.
Q. Who takes your photo?
A.My lovely boyfriend (reluctantly sometimes)!! Or me. Mostly we use a Nikon D70.

Q. Did sharing outfits bring you any changes?
A. I’ve always thought carefully about what i wear from day to day, i’ve had this instilled from an early age. Live life for each day, you never know who you’re going to meet or what’s going happen- and i wouldn’t want my last day on earth wearing something bad (i know that sounds terrible, right?)! But, yes, in some ways sharing my looks on my blog makes me think even more about putting the right outfits together.

Q. Where do you get the inspiration for dressing?
A. Everywhere! Keep your eyes open because inspiration is all around you if you look hard enough. People in the street, on TV, in magazines, other blogs, in beautiful photographs, even the weather! At the moment I find dancers inspiring- flowing skirts, tutus, leotards, ballet pumps.

Way magazine- China

I was recently featured in a Chinese fashion magazine for a 'vintage' feature and today I received the final version! Apparently they put me on the cover (yikes!!?) too but i haven't seen that yet (UPDATE_ here it is!) . This is all very exciting! You can see more of the pictures here and here that I posted a while ago. I did a interview too which I'll post throughout the week otherwise it'll be a looong (and probably boring for you guys) post!! Thanks to Stella at Way for sending this to me! xxxx

Does 1994 class as vintage now?

I'll never get over the genius of Grace Coddington. Now, this editorial is probably seen by many as ancient (!)- Vogue UK 1994, by Meisel, but i still love it! It is the epitome of so called 'vintage' and the sort of things i often see in vintage stores nowadays, (although whether they class as vintage is another matter..) !
I love the whimsy and the fun of it- and it's typical Grace. I don't really know why i'm posting it now, some days i just like to revisit my 'favourites' folder. Hope you enjoy them as much as i do!
